Whether figure skating as a teenager, studying modern dance as a young adult or working in the outdoor field, Stephanie has always been an active person. Having suffered various injuries throughout the years, she understands the importance of a well-functioning body and how it allows people to live life to the fullest. Her interest for wellness began with the discovery of yoga and osteopathic treatments during her 5 years of dance study in Montreal. She later wanted to dedicate herself to a related field and completed her first massage training in Quebec in 2012, she then worked at a spa and had a home-based practice for a several years. But her love for the wilderness and big mountains was strong so she began her journey west to Revelstoke in December 2017 and never looked back.

After practicing massage in hotels, spas and remote heli-ski lodges, in and around Revelstoke, her interest for the massage field was growing and so she decided to go back to massage school to upgrade her training to the 2200-hour BC standard. She graduated with honours and distinction from Alberta College of Massage Therapy in July 2021 and challenged the provincial exams to become an active member of the College of Massage Therapist of British Columbia in November 2021. She has been working in a clinic in Revelstoke since then. After buying a small acreage on the Eagle River in Malakwa and learning that Sicamous needed an RMT, she decided to make the move.

She is excited to provide Massage Therapy to the population of Sicamous at Functional Physio and wellness. Whether it is to reduce stress or tension, reduce pain or muscle soreness, prevent or recover from injury, she will be excited to work together with you to reach your goals. She has a special interest in everything related to fascia and posture. Her massage style is slow, integrating myofascial release, deep tissue and trigger point techniques and aiming to reset the nervous system to promote healing. In her free time, when not renovating the house, she can be found skiing, hiking, biking, kayaking, gardening or spending time with her lovely bernedoodle Dixie.

I grew up in the Sicamous area and like many kids who grow up in small towns, I had big dreams that led me to move away. However, there is something about the hot summer sun, the cool crisp water of the Shuswap and the smell of the breeze blowing through the cedar trees that you just can’t find elsewhere. So in June of 2020 my husband, our two kids and I moved back to this beautiful place.

I believe in living your best life and in doing it with intention. I want to be more focused on the things that truly matter to me such as health, wellness and supporting those in my family and community. This is why I decided on a career in massage.

I have recently graduated from the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy and became a registered massage therapist in May 2023. I use a variety of techniques in treatment but always try to keep an element of relaxation present. I want my clients to be able to relax, focus on their own body and take a break from the stress that many of us have in our busy lives.
